Our purchasing department needs a reliable Accounting Assistant who doesn’t mind putting in overtime, especially around the end of the month. The ideal candidate will be capable of learning our system with minimal supervision. He or she should be extremely organized and have great time management skills. In addition to serving the purchasing department, the applicant will also work with the accounting department on occasion. The Accounting Assistant will report to the Purchasing Director and work with the team to accomplish interdepartmental goals and quotas. Prepare and fact-check invoices before sending them to customers
Maintain and update general ledger and sales journal
Obtain approval to satisfy vendor statements
Prepare, fulfill and distribute checks
Request and process W-9 forms from new vendors
Approve and process wire transfer requests
Prepare and gain approval for POs
Scan, file and log accounting documents


2+ years’ accounting/bookkeeping experience (accounts payable preferred)
High school diploma/GED required
Some accounting education preferred
Experience with QuickBooks
Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite and Google Docs
Excellent 10-key skills
Typing speed minimum 50 WPM
Proficiency with Windows operating system
Advanced written and oral communication skills
Availability for 1-2 hours overtime 5+ days per month
